CONNECTION PROCEDURE - HOUSING COLONIES

Standards To Be Followed

  1. The layout plan duly approved and signed by the concerned department or local body alongwith letter of approval shall be provided by the sponsor/consultant with design documents.
  2. The load of T/F should not exceed 80% of its rated capacity.
  3. All Transformers proposed shall be of 100 KVA Capacity.
  4. For main 11 KV circuit ACSR Osprey, Lynx and Dog Conductors shall be used.
  5. For small T-Off ACSR Rabbit Conductor can be used.
  6. For L.T line WASP and Ant shall be used.
  7. Length of L.T line should not exceed 800 ft on any side of T/F.
  8. Only 6 No. services should be tapped off from one pole/structure.
  9. Independent transformers of 50 KVA and 25 KVA for street light system can be used.
  10. The consultant shall be responsible to collect the data regarding:
      1. Capacity of G/Station
      2. Loading of G/Station
      3. Loading of Distribution Feeders
  11. The voltage drop calculations shall be made from node to node.

    1 - Factors To Be Considered

      1. Diversity Factor = 1.25
      2. Development Factor = 75 %
      3. Sub-Urban Factor = 80 %

    2 - Accommodation Of Additional Load

    The additional load will be accommodated if the Technical parameters after the addition of load in the system are brought back to the existing system parameters. Sponsor will deposit amount for the compensation of levels arising out of the initial figures, whereas the balance cost shall stand on LESCO’s cost.

    3- Street Light

    Street Light Phase will be provided in Design and BOQ only.

    4- Vetting Charges

    The approved design will remain intact till completion of the project provided the design vetting charges are paid within a period of 3 Months.

    5- Permissible Error
    a) 5% error is permissible in the "as built" Drawing with reference to the original approved design in all the individual material items except the T/Fs.

    6- Amount Recovered

    a. The total amount recovered from sponsors shall remain with the executing agency to arrange for timely procurement of the material.

    b. WAPDA shall fulfill its commitments for completion of the construction work according to the schedule finalized with the sponsoring agency.

    d. If sponsoring agency intends to get the job executed in phases, the cost for the proposed phases may be recovered as and when their execution is requested, but the energization shall only be allowed when the entire system is constructed or the entire cost for the project is deposited. No escalation will be charged by WAPDA at any later stage.

    e. Consultant shall also be associated by the committee so as to satisfy the sponsors for quality of the work and use of material as per estimate.

    f. Regular reporting shall be made by the committee.

    7. One Point BulkSupply

    1. The system beyond the metering point shall be maintained and operated by the sponsor agency.
    2. While energizing the metering system at one point, the material purchase documents, invoices shall be examined to ensure that the legitimate material has been used in the scheme. Material shall be purchased from the WAPDA approved manufacturers.

    8. Recovery Of Sharing Cost Of Grid Station

    1. No matter the grid is new or existing, sharing cost shall be recovered from all sponsors/ residents.
    2. Rs. 4.93 Million per MW of Ultimate demand of load as cost of grid station and transmission line (5km) and Rs. 0.534 Million per MW as cost of land (Rs. 2732 per KW including the cost of Land). Rs. 2465 per KW if land provided by sponsor.
    3. 50% lump sum amount shall be paid by the sponsors in advance.
    4. 25% from the plot owners at the time of giving new connections.
    5. 25% shall be borne by WAPDA.
    6. Govt. Sponsored Housing Schemes shall provide 4 to 6 acres of land free of charges for construction of Grid station to WAPDA.
    7. No delay will be made after the deposit of amount.
    8. Total cost of feeder(s) and other distribution system shall also be provided by the sponsor.
    9. It has been assumed that the sponsors will provide 4-6 acres of suitable land free of cost for the construction of new grid. Alternatively they’ll bear the actual cost of the land.

    a. Light Points = 90 * 100 = 9 KW

    b. Ceiling Fans = 15 * 80 = 1.2 KW

    c. Exhaust Fans = 06 * 80 = 0.48 KW

    d. Ordinary Plug = 25 * 100 = 2.50 KW

    TOTAL = 13.18 KW

    Max Demand with 30 % D.F = 13.180 * 0.30 = 3.954 KW

    Load with 100 % Demand Factor

    a. A.Cs = 04 * 2.5 = 10 KW

    b. Iron = 02 * 1.0 = 2 KW

    Total Demand = 3.954 + 10 + 2 = 16 KW

    a. Light Points = 60 * 100 = 6 KW

    b. Ceiling Fans = 10 * 80 = 0.8 KW

    c. Exhaust Fans = 03 * 80 = 0.24 KW

    d. Ordinary Plug = 15 * 100 = 1.50 KW

    Max Demand with 30 % D.F = 8.54 * 0.30 = 2.562 KW
